Midco International offers burner customization and ETL certified testing of our customer’s products to ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards at our inhouse laboratory. The Midco team documents the scope of the testing, integrate the Midco burner into the customer’s assembly and performs all testing to achieve the desired certification. The test program takes between 4 and 8 weeks. The workflow below displays the phases of a typical testing program.
Supported ANSI Standards
Z83.4 Non-Recirculating Direct Gas Fired Heating and Forced Ventilation:
- This standard applies to heaters where the discharge air temperature is 160°F or less.
- Heaters covered are to only be used for industrial and commercial applications.
- All air to heater is ducted to combustion zone with 100% outside air.
- Often used for HVAC systems in buildings.
Z83.18 Recirculating Direct Gas-Fired Industrial Air Heaters:
- This standard applies to heaters where the discharge air temperature is 160°F or less.
- Heaters covered are to only be used for industrial and commercial applications.
- Typically, 80% recirculated air and 20% outside air.
Z83.25 Direct gas-fired process air heaters:
- Heaters covered are limited to a maximum discharge temperature of 250°F.
- Can be used for recirculating or for non-recirculating when used with non-occupied spaces. Both can be used in occupied spaces as well, but would usually allow for lower temperature rise.
- Often used for automotive spray booths.
